The Uptown Theatre Renovation Project is an organization dedicated to the restoration  and re-use of the magnificant Uptown Theatre in Chicago. The Uptown Theatre is located at 4816 N. Broadway just off Lawrence in Chicago's  historic Uptown neighborhood. It opened in 1925 as part of the Balaban and Katz Theater  organization.Visit www.balabanandkatzfoundation.com for more B and K information. It was successfully operated from 1975 to 1981 by the  Rabiela  Family. During that time, the Uptown was host to dozens of top notch live concerts and movies.  Sadly, since 1981, this beautiful theater palace  has remained largely vacant. This site documents the rebirth of Chicago's Uptown Theatre as a mecca for fine entertainment to be enjoyed  by Chicagoans  and the world!
